Singer songwriter duo from the New York and Texas, Greg Klyma and Bill Passalaqua will be performing Live @ the PinChurch on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Here’s what you all missed:
Bill Poss entertains with great songs and great stories, often in the same breath. Over the past 2 decades, he has cut a wide path, shifting easily from folk & bluegrass to country & rock. His years on the road – first solo, then with the Ginn Sisters and Fred Eaglesmith Traveling Steam Show – have provided him with great fodder for his songs and his stories. Poss is touring in support of his latest recording, Saltwater, and his first book, Bill Poss Travelogue.
Greg Klyma is a prolific songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and seasoned performer, bringing to every stage a catalog of material that assumes his audiences are both smart and able to laugh. His birth date puts him squarely in the middle of Generation X, but Greg is an old-school troubadour. His enduring themes, articulate and amusing stories, and populist ideals make him one of those rare artists who is carrying the torch of Woody and Ramblin’ Jack. He rolls in off the road, pulls out a guitar, and proceeds to take us back to the basics: family, love, gratitude, and laughter. It’s the timeless art of the true troubadour, keeping alive the American folk tradition.
Poss and Klyma became fast friends after meeting at the Kerrville Folk Festival early in the new millennium. Now a couple hundred thousand miles down the road, this tour is something of a reunion for these old touring buddies. Their show will include solo sets by both performers as well as collaborations reflecting the spark of the Texas campfire that set their friendship in motion all those years ago.
