These are just a small sampling of some of the things our Krewe/members have accomplished.

  • Hosted dozens of live concerts featuring local, national and international bands.
  • Made our own hot sauce!
  • Put pinball machines in the Museum of Art.
  • Host parties usually every week.
  • Volunteered with various charitable organizations including: Second Harvest Food Bank, The Humane Society of Louisiana, Children’s Hospital, the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra, and many others.
  • Sponsored a documentary film festival
  • Hosted poker tournaments
  • Raised and fostered puppies and kittens
  • Installed an industrial roof on our building ourselves
  • Hosted classes on CPR and become certified
  • Taken trips together to various destinations
  • Rented pinball and arcade machines for movie productions and participated on-set.

  • Partnered with Wizard World convention
  • Hosted movie nights, completely with HD big screen, surround sound and concessions

  • Do multi-camera shoots of live events with up to 10+ cameras.
  • Edit and produce our own videos, commercials and documentaries.

  • Collaborate with conventions coming to town (like Wizard World) to participate, promote and give away free passes.

  • Negotiate reciprocal deals with other venues like museums, arcades, laser tag, escape rooms, etc., to offer our members special access for free.
  • Set up a custom Virtual Reality system available for everybody to play with hundreds of games.

  • Set up our own industrial laser cutter.
  • Created a “digital candle.”
  • Make our own custom t-shirts that seem to pop up on the chests of luminaries in the industry as well as rock stars.
  • Get our own professional airbrush equipment.
  • Build a workshop with everything from woodworking to machine shop equipment.
  • Establish conditions of a future trust to ensure our collective continues long into the future.
  • Purchase an old church building and completely refurbish it, doing everything from the electrical to the framing, drywall, tile and finish work.
  • Recycle all sorts of donated equipment.
  • Create our own fundraisers to improve our clubhouse and add more features.
  • Did a class on how to build your own multi-arcade machine.
  • Designed and built our own custom light boxes to display translights and other artwork.
  • Let Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Cowboy Mouth and the Subdudes use our space to rehearse.
  • Rented pinball machines to Jason Sudekis when he was in town filming and had him come visit and hang out.
  • Got Ed Robertson to sing the theme song from the Big Bang Theory at our party.
  • Gotten written up in Wired Magazine.
  • Created our own custom light fixtures and special sequences using neopixels and hacked Idea hardware.
  • Set up our own 3D printers and 3D scanner systems.
  • Built custom-made CnC machine
  • Built our own custom recording studio.
  • Got corporate sponsorship from companies like PreSonus who donated top-quality equipment for our studio.
  • Provided equipment to the group Arcade Fire for special projects.
  • Helped create custom sequenced lighted suits for Chewbacchus.

Our collection of games, our museum and our expertise in restoring, maintaining and operating the South's largest collection of vintage coin-op machine is available to partner with others in the area! Active Projects
Below is a sampling of the active projects taking place within the Mystic Krewe. These are not all that's going on. If you would like to participate, contact us.

  • Sewing Group - Meets semi-regularly on Tuesdays working on various sewing projects from cloths and quilts to leatherwork and beyond.
  • Video Editing & Production Study Group - ongoing weekly meetings to learn beginner, basic and advanced videography, using HD cameras and Adobe Creative Suite CS6 (Premier Pro, After Affects, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Pinball Repair - Ongoing sessions showcasing basic and advanced pinball and video game repairs. Members come by at their leisure and we tackle various projects.
  • Music Group - MK members comprise a number of popular bands in the area as well as aspiring musicians. We regularly assemble to learn, teach, share and jam in the studio.
  • Basic Electronics/Micro Controllers by example - We're working with the Beaglebone microcomputer, the next generation over the Raspberry Pi, and learning basic electronics and embedded systems by developing a few simple and useful devices. Our flagship product will be a super-intelligent custom A/C thermostat/humidistat.
  • Computer-controlled DMX systems - Using computers to control lights and FX controllers.
  • Stained Glass Workshop - preparing for a class on how to make stained glass art.
  • ProTools and audio recording systems - The ongoing setup and configuration of our multi-track digital studio and podcasting system.
  • Construction and woodworking - We are designing and building custom desks and other fixtures, as well as working on unique artistic pieces and furniture to resell.
  • Mobile Applications Development - Android and IOS development groups are forming to begin learning and designing mobile apps, forming business ventures around these projects.
